Equality before law. The State shall not deny to any person equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within the territory of India.
In plain wordsEveryone, citizen or not, is equal before the law, and the government must give all people equal protection under it. Courts use this guarantee to strike down laws and official actions that treat people unfairly without a sound reason.
